More Delicious .hack Details

More details have been revealed about .hack//GU. Players will take on the role of Haseo, who hunts down Player-Killers and has earned the nickname "Terror of Death" in doing so. He's the character with the grey hair and chainsaw-like sword in the official trailer. The player that looks like Kite (except with a bit more "zombie" to him) is called "Tri-Edge."

Other characters revealed by the promotional trailer are:
Atoli, "The Mirage of Deceit"
Kuhn, "The Propogation"
Yata, "The Prophet"
Sakubo, "The Machinator"
Endrance, "The Temptress"
Pai, "The Avenger"
and Ovan "The Rebirth."

What role they will play (other than those suggested by their titles) hasn't been revealed. .hack//GU director Daisuke Uchiyama and CC2 President Hiroshi Matsuyama have confirmed another .hack game is being made right now, and it's expected to be released before GU. They're certainly some busy bees at CyberConnect 2.

But what does that "GU" stand for? Apparently it has 12 hidden meanings within the game, but according to Gamespot, the main one is "Grow Up." Just like other games, these new ones will have anime incarnations as well.

Dragon Song is new Lunar

Formerly titled, Lunar Genesis, the upcoming Nintendo DS Lunar game has been renamed by Ubi Soft. Now, it is called Lunar: Dragon Song. The game will be a prequel to Lunar: The Silver Star. No ports of this game have been announced, so the DS looks like the only way to go for interested Lunar fans.

The three main heroes in the game are named Jian, Gabriel, and Lucia; that may or may not be the same Lucia from Lunar 2: Eternal Blue; we don't know yet.

Ultima Online Gets 7th Expansion

Ultima Online is expanding again. The new expansion is named Ultima Online: Mondain's Legacy and will feature many enhancements, such as:
* New Playable Race: Elves
* New Enemies
* New Dungeons
* New Spellweaving Skill (allowing multiple characters to combine their spells)
* New Quest System
* Collections
* Increased item storage capacity

Origins, the game's developer, isn't just plunking the Elves into a world where they don't belong. The Elves come with their own backstory, their own city, and other relevant connections to Britannia. Mondain's Legacy will come bundled with the full version of Ultima Online, so new players are not required to buy anything extra.
