Winner: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Finally, Fire Emblem on the GameCube. This system was sorely in need of a tactical RPG, and Path of Radiance delivered the goods. Fire Emblem fans couldn't have asked for a better year. While FE: Sacred Stones was busy winning our Best GBA Game of the Year award, its 3D counterpart was rocking the 'Cube world with a fantastic title. It's all about impressive gameplay in the Fire Emblem series, and Path of Radiance uses just that, combined with a decent story and technical power to work its way to the top.
Runner up: Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life
It's Harvest Moon. Come on. Harvest. Moon. Isn't that enough? Pretty much, yeah. This was another great niche title brought to us by Natsume. It didn't have much competition this year, but even if it had, we think Another Wonderful Life would have stood a good chance of taking home this prize in '05.
