Hotness. This year's coolest combat ability, hands down, was Jessica's "Sexy Beam" in Dragon Quest VIII. Get her in the bunny suit or battle bikini and watch the fun begin. That's hot.

Runner up: "Devour" (SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2)
In my early days of RPGaming, I used to say stuff like "I'm going to murder (insert enemy) and eat his entire family." In Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, one can finally do something pretty close: devour enemies. How cool is that? I don't have to tell you that it's highly awesome. Just beat up an enemy for a while, then select "Devour" as your combat ability of choice, and you might just eat your enemy instead of just killing it. Brilliant!
