Winner: Etna (Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness)
Etna takes this year's princess crown, despite her game being largely a port. She wins this for the new plot scenario that was added, in which she becomes Disgaea's main character, and players are treated to a whole lot of bonus Etna. You devil, you.

Runner up: Odette and Gwendolyn (Odin Sphere)
Odin Sphere had a lot of quality characters, so as we're prone to do here, when a several are nominated from the same game, we let 'em share the spoils. We definitely need more rotting-flesh, spidery skeletony queens such as Odette in today's RPGs. Gwendolyn did what she thought was right at all times, moreso than most of the standard RPG characters who would perhaps claim a similar description.

Honorable mention: Jeanne (Jeanne d'Arc)
Hey, how often do we get a character based on an actual historical figure? Not just that, but Jeanne was pretty kickass.
