" write letters to me about the sweet times you've had playing games in places other than your house. Maybe you found a new favorite in an unlikely place? Do you and a friend have one timeless game you always like to fire up?"
Heath's theme for letters to the editor...
Well I was thinking of sending a letter in, but i thought that would be kinda weird considering I'm a forumite/previewer/reviewer... so I figured I'd just write here
One of my best experiences with playing games away from home was at my friend's house when I lived in Indiana. We used to play Super Mario RPG every day for months, unlocking everything we could find, discovering new secrets, playing through again on a different strategy. We'd go through every level up just upping Mario's attack, and be able to kill bosses in 1-3 turns. The day we found the casino was the best. Without gamefaqs, without a guide, we tracked down all the secrets and put them together and found the casino, talk about an awesome experience.
Playing RPGs is great, but playing RPGs while switching off the controller every once in a while with your best friend is amazing. _________________

Three words: Gamecube, friends, beer
We haven't done it in a while but our Cube gatherings are always a blast. Wario Ware seems to be the group favourite, between turtle stacking and the weird othello like board game where you have to beat the robot at the end, only Pac Man Vs. (which was free) gives more multiplayer bang for the buck. _________________

Me and my best friend always play multiplayer war games.
Games like:
conflict vietnam, desert storm, global terror (newest)
and the like. It's fun playing it over his house, we always have a blast going through the missions and trying to get all the secondary objections and just plain destroying everything. We command a team of 4 guys and we both control two characters each. If you want some multiplayer fun, I'd highly suggest it. |
