Got to go to Green Day last night in St Paul. Jimmy Eat World opened.... BARF

Anyway, I haven't really liked Green Day since the last 2 albums but the show was very awesome. We also got two backstage passes and got to meet Billie.

One funny thing happened, they let 3 people from the audience who could play guitar, bass and drums play part of OP IV's Knowledge and the kid who was playing the bass smashed it against the ground after the song, he got tackled and everyone was booing. Supposedly that was Mike's favorite bass and he was pissed, he didn't come backstage.

This surprises me. I know darn well (from experience) that Green Day is an awesome show, but I haven't wanted to see anything since they became borderline-political with that American Idiot CD. ugh. Like, I love Anti-Falg, but their shows are like 55% propaganda now. It's like, stick to just sending us the message subliminally in the lyrics and PLAY YOUR DAMN SONGS!
Good to hear Green Day hasn't changed too much in that regard.

Ah yes. They seem to do that at a lot of shows. They did that at the one I went to a few years ago too. Is pretty entertaining ^^

Shocked
Wow. What a jackass. I hope the gaurds broke something or tore his ACL when they tackled him cause that was foul Evil or Very Mad

He bashed "W" quite a bit.

I'm just not a big fan of American Idiot or Warning so I was a little worried on how fun it would be..

One thing that annoyed me, around 1/3 or 1/4 of the crowd was little kids... It wasn't a PG or PG-13 show.

I friggin hate that. I don't go to as many punk shows as I used to now. Too many of them have unfortunately acquired teenage girl fanbases. Only if the band is pretty underground will I go anymore.

I was the kid who smashed the bass that night. It was September 16th, 2005. I had a pink tee shirt with a skull on it. Green Day actually ended up signing this shirt years later. But I'm sure no one really cares any more. Hit me up if you want the deets. I'll give you my side of the story. I guarantee you'll be entertained! Smile
