I just picked it up today. Will have impressions soon enough.

Rough start. Had a cycle redundancy error when trying to install the game. Disc is not damaged so to "fix" the problem I'm installing from another DVD drive.

Let me know how it is. When I upgrade (translated means buy a new) my computer to be able to run Skyrim I was thinking of picking this up. Looks pretty awesome. I liked the first one, but it just ran like shit on my old computer and I never bothered installing it on my new one.

Very early impressions.

You can import your Witcher 1 save into this one. Not totally sure what it imports.

Graphics
The engine is new so the characters and environments do look different from the first Witcher. Geralt looks oddly different. The game does have better graphics than the first one for the most part and there are a lot more things happening on screen. The game runs fine on my somewhat older Quadcore processor with a Geforce 9800GT 1GB GDDR3 and 4GB of memory.

Gameplay
The game still uses the magic signs from the first and your steel/silver sword for combat. I haven't really gotten to mess with any of the magic or alchemy this early on but the combat is faster than the first game. There are only 2 attack types (heavy/fast) and you don't have to switch styles from what I've seen. It's kind of nice since it's easier to pick up and play but now the combat really feels like most of the other action rpgs out there and not the flowing sword fighting combat feel that the first one had.

Sound/Audio
I've already heard quite a lot of the same speech from the random dialogue of npcs. That is truly a shame. The music and voice acting are doing the job. Geralt seems to sound the same for the most part and most of the other characters are pretty well acted.

I ran a server for a few months

Terraria is better because its like metal slug meets minecraft and has more of a dungeon crawl feel.

The witcher 2 sounds good though i need to play it when i have free time. I am so addicted to CRPG mod for warband though.

Topping the kill charts with a motherfijucking long dagger.

After playing this some more I can definitively say it is better than the first game.

The gameplay is definitely changed but now that I'm more used to it it does have some depth to it. It's still more user friendly to pick up and play than the first game which will appeal to those who didn't like the first game's combat. The storyline is very well done so far and definitely keeping up with the mature theme.

The character progression is also more narrow this time around which will be a turn off for some but it still provides plenty of customization.

I really like WRPGs but the first games is one of the only times in my history of playing video games that a game actually offended me. Second one doesn't look any less offensive.

I actually owned a PC when the first Witcher came out and I couldn't play it more than an hour or two.

The Witcher offended you? That's pretty hilarious.

Anyway, great game and Geralt is that much more badass this time around. There are some branching paths as well. Apparently 16 different endings.

I'll have more impressions on the story and gameplay as I dive deeper in. Plenty of intrigue to go.

The embarrassing thing is that you would actually like the game and what the story portrays if you gave it more than of an intro chance. The first Witcher moves very slowly. Witcher 2 is more your speed though. The gameplay has been streamlined for 12 year olds.

I watched Witcher 2 played for 2 hours. It still looks terrible. Lots of over the top cursing and sexual bullshit. It's like a videogame made for man-apes that like 300 or that stupid Spartacus show.
