My PS3 crapped out on me after putting in a hard 3 1/2 years of not realizing it's full potential (even though my NES still fires up on the first try after 25 years).
I'm gonna hook my 360 back up and start picking up games for that since even when i had RRoD, Microsoft was incredibly good about fixing it and shipping it for free. Whereas Sony will not even acknowledge that there's a problem even though they've received, literally, hundreds of calls about systems failing.
It made me start thinking about my favorite consoles and was wondering; what everybody else's favorite console was from any time?
FYI, my favorite console is the PS1. |

PS2 or the SNES. I still have my first PS2 that I bought stolen for $150 a day before it came out. The PS3 is gonna be a blu-ray player for me now anyways. None of the games have very much DLC and it has no good exclusives except for Demons Souls. _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |

DS and 360. It feels like everything else was building up to this.
Despite the fact that Idin's a faggot, PC is still my favorite gaming platform. _________________

SNES (although I don`t play it anymore, had the best batch of games for its time)
PS2
XBox360 - no RROD and lots of games I enjoy. Online is user-friendly and I can just plug in my internet. (Wii requires WiiFii, and despite my having it, still refuses to recognize an internet connection). |

Aside from PC I would say definitely the SNES. DS for handheld. I have put a ton of time on my DS. So many good games. _________________

1. SNES - Everything about it was an improvement in console gaming and it's best games are still fun today.
2. Dreamcast - It was a dream to play before waking to the nightmare of Sega's downfall.
3. Nintendo DS - It's the only game in town for old skool cool. And with some minor mods it's a cheap iPhone. _________________ "What's that powder he's putting in our dinner?" |

PS2 is my favorite console. For handhelds, I'm tied between the GBA and DS. _________________ As can be seen, witty is not my strong suit. |

*Sigh*
The Dreamcast will always make me wonder...Stuff.
Overall, it's tough to call between the PlayStations 1 and 2. Are we counting backward compatability? _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

The best thing about the Dreamcast was that you could play SNES games on it.
That and Crazy Taxi.

There can be no doubt, the PC always has been and always will be the best Gaming platform/console.
2nd would be my SNES or maybe the N64. Sure it had no RPGs, but I had a lot of fun with it. _________________

The N64 doesn't get enough love.
Blast Corps, Ogre Battle 64, Killer Instinct, Road Rash 64, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, and the Fighters Destiny games are awesome. _________________

Judging a console based on a handful of decent titles isn't the way to go. The N64 was a steaming pile of monkeyshit with the single worst controller in the history of man, and like the Wii, way behind the times for its gen. _________________

False...
Atari Jaguar will stand as not only the worst console ever, but the most fucked-up controller of all time. Each game came with a fucking card you had to slide into the face of the controller so you would know what each one of the 12 unlabled buttons did. I'm looking at mine right now and hating it. |
