If they did all you would hear is bitching from 360 players.
I like it better this way because a lot of servers have their own sounds and things they put in the game to make it just that more interesting than the vanilla version.

I like the 360 a lot. Ace Combat online is fucking amazing.
Sorry Mr. Kow I like the 360 as well. I guess I am trying to steer you towards failure... I mean the PS3.

| well, maybe it's just envy. I can't play steam right now due to equipment losses I've sustained. I personally like PC games but in my current situation cost wise I'd save a bundle going console. |

6 months to a year isn't really accurate. PC hardware cycles usually last about as long if not longer than console hardware cycles, as far as hardware becoming outdated... I can still play games that come out on XBX360 and PC like Oblivion and Bioshock on my 5 year old PC, even if the graphical power isn't as great as I'd like. I could drop 2k on a screaming machine and have it last just as long before recommended specs become too much for me to run. And with console games in order to properly harness most of that power you need a sweet HD TV and a good sound system, which are both generally more expensive than a great PC monitor and comparable sound card/speaker setup.
Plus PC's have the added bonus of being easily upgradable, so with proper planning, instead of having to buy a whole new $2k rig in 5 years you should be able to get away with just upping your video card to get most of the benefits of the next next gen of consoles... Sure stuff like format changes like PCI Express and multi core processing kind of fucked me since the time I built my current machine, but those changes don't occur that often in PC gaming.

I couldn't play Bioshock on my 3 year old PC. Or on my 6 month old laptop.
I don't know how accurate it is or not. It just seems fairly accurate. You still have to fork out huge for new graphics cards and the like.

Well then 3 years ago you built/bought a really chittyshittybangbang machine.
And unless you went out of your way to buy/build a top tier gaming laptop, you're not going to be able to run shit on it. A great gaming laptop is gonna set you back $3k easily.
I built my machine from scratch with all individual components back in 2004 before EverQuest 2 came out and it still runs Bioshock at medium quality (lowered res if I want to keep lighting/shadow stuff on).
And unless you buy into that stupid SLI crap, you can get decent, current gen video cards now for a few hundred bucks, which is basically like upgrading from your Xbox to your Xbox 360...
It's still splitting hairs. The price difference isn't as godawful as console chest thumpers would have you believe. Just like playing analog sticks aren't the tools of fucking Satan like computer FPS gamers like to tell you.

I'll be honest. the 1500 number is something I threw out there because last time I looked into updating my PC with top tier equipment, that's what I came up with. I'm sure I can do better and I'm sure it's not so bad.
I just like consoles for ease. I don't have to worry about trying to get installs to work or what settings my games are at. I just put the disc in the tray and enjoy. That's all I want out of my gaming experience. Plug and play.
I read a lot of gaming sites and I hear tales of not being able to get x game to work all the time. Or this that and the other. I just don't know how people have the patience to fuck with it.
That I'm entirely lazy.

And I have to agree that that I too prefer FPS games on the PC. Sure there are some decent Console ones from time to time (goldeneye) but I still prefer the mouse and keyboard configuration.
