I was guessing I'd never have fun playing one of those Korean MMORPG click fests but I'm actually enjoying the beta of Granado Espada. The 3 party system is pretty fun for soloing. The way the game is setup with stances and combat orders being a clickfest isn't bad since when getting ready to fight somewhere you can basically tell your team what to do and just chill/loot.

Overall, I gotta say I've enjoyed it so far (3 of my characters at level 20, max is 100).

Dammit, I saw that coming!

I've actually been writing notes about it and their "user agreement" doesn't seem to forbid it.

I guess I could get my one writing thing over for the year early this time Laughing Razz

Guess it's going to be called Sword of the New World. They haven't changed the name on the English beta though..

Here's IGN's take:

Besides frilly dresses, in summary, what does this game offer me that other MMO's don't?

Is this going to be a grind fest like Lineage? I'd wager it is.

Martyr: Razz

LiQuid!: It offers the 3 player system but it of course could become a grindfest. I imagine it will become a game to just basically try and fill your 36 character slot with the wide range of character types they have. Max level is 100 but it's actually a very fast leveling process. If you just wanted to take a 3 character party and max them and just play with them that's fine (not very painful). I would just think that most people are going to want to get all the character types (recruitable npcs). CATCH EM ALL.... or something.

It's basically an MMORPG that encourages soloing by allowing players to have upwards to 36 characters and to level 3 of them at any given time. I'm not impressed.

Well, I'll find out more come 2.0. Groups can become quite large in numbers with each controlling 3 characters which could become crazy. I just didn't group much during my limited play through of the closed beta.

Sounds at least 2 steps ahead of 80something% of other MMORPGs which are grindfests and only allow leveling/control of 1 character at a time. Like, say, I dunno, Final Fantasy XI. And the like.

Damn straight. WHO THE HELL PAYS $15/month TO PLAY A GAME BY THEMSELVES? Dumbasses.

Not really. Now, you just grind with three characters, and while the game starts out forgiving... it quickly turns into that Korean zone. :/

Seriously, though, the only way this game will pan out is if they fix the parties to allow for more viable partying, because as it stands it can be rather difficult to get a party of 3 people who want to play together, especially considering most people can just bring their own created characters and accomplish just as much.

So far as I'm in, the lack of quests is also a huge turn off.

This game isn't 'OMG GREAT" (yet?) just different, which is neither a bad or a good thing.

PEOPLE WHO CAN AFFORD TO PAY $15/month TO PLAY A GAME BY THEMSELVES? Dumbass.

I personally pay probably $100 a month on games that I never even get around to playing at all. Who are you to say that your $15 spent is more justified than someone else's? A douche, that's who. It gets kind of tiring watching you make the same overly retarded, baseless tangents about something that you really don't have any business even commenting about... This must be what it's like to read my posts all the time.

Exactly. Hence my statement. 2 steps ahead.

I'm not entirely sure how much I'll like it when it's all said and done. I can say it was fun from what I played. I will be playing open beta as well. We'll see.

Only your drunken ones that make no sense. The others, while often brash, at least have enough content to warrant being read.

At any rate, my opinion that solo gaming in MMOs is killing the genre and is also utterly retarded has been beaten into the forum walls enough times as it is, so I suppose I'll refrain from pissing over everyone else long enough to get back into discussing the game. When it goes beta, I'm looking to play it again, in no small part because it promises a rather interesting style of duels.

I believe MMO's that do not have PVP that actually means something is killing the genre.

No meaningful PVP = Single player game with a chat window.

The option to solo should always be there. That way people that can not get into a group can still get better. Not to mention people that do not want to deal with dumbasses like 8 year old kids.
