Quote: | Guy with the tablet is dungeon master, creates a live dungeon on-the-go. Could possibly have presets or just a randomized dungeon layout that fits a certain criteria (making it so that all dungeons are solvable, despite the best efforts of the DM). Everyone else can play with classic controller/wiimote and attempts to survive/complete the dungeon.
DM can drop dragons, drones, bombs, spike-pits, collapsing ceilings. All of the generic dungeon-solving things, but it's created on the spot. They could choose the locations for weapon spawns, etc." |
Basically like a reimagining of Hero Quest. A mixture of preset campaigns and on the fly DM'ing mixed with a turn based strategy RPG. That would probably be the single best video game of all time and it would fit well with the one-tablet set up. | I'd get it for this alone, but it will never never never happen. _________________

Software eh? I can't wait for the third party developers to make like 1-2 games each before giving up and then the last 7 years of the Wii-U life is nothing but Mario, Kirby, Zelda, and Pokemon games... just like the Wii. _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |

So we're about 5 days away. Is there anyone who has any interest in the Wii U?
Full disclosure, I am getting one at launch. My wife pre-ordered it as an early Christmas present for me and she wants to play New Super Mario Bros U. After that, I can't really decide if any games look like they're worth getting. _________________ "The teen passed out during the ceremony and the town decided to drown the cow." |

Why would your wife get you a bad Christmas present you don't want? Sounds like a crappy wife. You should upgrade. _________________

Actually, I've been looking forward to the Wii U. The launch line up isn't the greatest, but I think there's a bit of potential that just hasn't been tapped yet. Also, I collect game consoles so it's really a perfect gift. _________________ "The teen passed out during the ceremony and the town decided to drown the cow." |

Wii bowling still is one of the single greatest games ever made. I was thinking of picking up Wii just for that alone. _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |

One of the single greatest uses of the Wiimote easily, but hardly one of the greatest games ever made. Simplistic bowling video games have existed for decades. There's a better bowling minigame in Grand Theft Auto 4 and that uses an actual controller so, you know, you actually have control over what you do... _________________

Yeah, but you can't go to a dingy dive bar with a bunch of friends and play GTA4 bowling while drinking $3 giant beers til 2am either, but you sure can do that with Wii bowling. _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |
