NOFX is amazing, but they don't belong in this thread. Heath, you of all people should adhere to this Universal Law... _________________

I agree, though I didn't necessarily bring them in, I brought in a superior version of something they did.
Either way, as the day winds down, this thread is on the verge of saying...
Bye For Now! |

It's a day for remembering old times.
It's day for looking back and smiling.
It's a day for using what we learned in days gone by to make days yet to come the best they can be.
It is certainly NOT just another Saturday. Or Sunday, as the case May be. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

Acoustic, curveball.

I'm thinking back to a year ago at this time and wow I am doing better by like a phenomenal margin. Making about 80% of the money I was but working like half the hours, all while never fearing some clown in a moomoo calling me about dumb stuff. Awesome. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

It may be May 16 there, but. . .
Also, you're too good at remembering this. Is it a birthday? An anniversary? Do you really love that song so much that every time it's May 16, you are reminded of it, and then free associate to this? _________________ H-E-S-T-E-R is a long, convoluted joke. |

I haven't done the old Lagwagon/terrible punk rock/F it whatever you want thread the last couple of May 16s, but I've honored it in my house. This year's annual tradition of waking up and rolling up a playlist felt particularly good. And right.
It came in the middle of a week where I've got a bunch of 12-hour days (how does this even happen, seriously?) and spent a day in the ER for the same old asthma shit.
If those musicians can survive by just drinking beer and playing a guitar while sweating in front of 85 people, hell, I can survive too. I'll be okay.
One more work day and then I'm gonna go to Kokura see a sweet castle and a bunch of cool shit. I will still win this week.
My next work day isn't too bad. Just another Saturday. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

Worth a note, on this May 16th, that Lagwagon has a new album and "Bubble" is like, the quintessential Lagwagon song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-ALm6yhZG4
Quote: | We're not breaking ground
Brain-trust re-sharing a rusty sound
Period pieces, congenital cheer, faux evolution here
It's still 1992 here in the bubble reminding you
At warped speed on the beltway loop
Bringing our giant too
Sour grapes and puke
Here in the past I repeat what they say
Here in the vault they instructed us to remain
We'll not fade away
Grateful for our home in the bubble
Throwback in the van
Cranking the oldies like Samiam
Jawbreaker, Mr. T Experience
Never rock anything new
Chesterfield Kings
I'll smoke a whole pack as I try to sing
Re-read The Stand by Stephen King
Avail satiates
Milk, milk, lemonade
Here in the past I repeat what they say
Here in the vault where they ordered us to remain
We still stowaway
grateful for our home in our bubble
Na na, Nir-van-a-aaah Yeah!!!!
Yeah, we get it, heard it before, won't forget it
The house that we built, don't regret it
We have had our heyday
Beer for pay, (the) roach-ridden pads
We were proud to stay
A dashboard of dusty demo tapes
Fucked up and stoked all day
Is there any other way?
"YAY!!!!"
Here in the past I repeat what they say
Here in the vault where they locked us away
Incapable of change
Grateful for this home in our bubble |
