No, you're very right, but up until this point the movies have been able to elevate the source material and tell a pretty cohesive story with a lot of the books' fat trimmed. This one was just an excuse to have all the kids "snogging" on screen, with no narrative, and a big jumbled mess of a finale that even the people in my group who'd read the books could hardly follow.

One of the girls I was with that hasn't read the books didn't know what the hell she'd just watched.

I think the overall experience might have been tainted by the last 20 minutes, since I was more or less enjoying myself. I guess I won't know until I see it again, but that won't be any time soon.

I'm pretty sure you were one of those people walking into the theatre saying, "This movie's going to suck."

And sitting two rows behind a group of people and laughing every time they laugh doesn't actually put you in their group. Also, rubbing up next to a girl on the bus on your way to the theatre doesn't actually make here a girl that you were with.

Even on my worst day, I can look in the mirror and say, "At least I'm not LiQuid."

LiQuid, I owe you an apology. I've been able to overlook the other Harry Potter movies for things that were missing, but this one completely lost me.

Also, I have never, ever seen my wife as mad at a movie as I saw her when we walked out of the theatre. She still tells the commercials to go f--- themselves. I don't know how commercials can f--- themselves, but I've learned not to argue with a pregnant woman who is pissed at a movie.

Yeah we just cooked up some popcorn and busted out of festival candy and watched that. Neither of us had seen it before; it was pretty great.

I had to drag my wife to go see Big Fish in the theatre. As soon as we walked out, she went to the nearest Suncoast video and pre ordered the dvd.

I really enjoyed District 9, although it was most definitely not what I was expecting. I also just saw The Hangover which was just as funny as everyone was saying. (read: very)
