Wow! I'd hoped for years that VP2 would one day exist, and here that day is, or soon will be! I'm also glad they are porting VP1 to PSP. between that and Suikoden 2, the PSP is getting some cool retro titles...
Lets just hope NA gamers will actually get it... _________________ Xyzzy...

Wow, a port of the first game AND a sequal?
I don't know what was worse in the first one, though - the voice acting, or the loading pauses between voiced segments. |

Yes. In no small bart because the battles and, to a lesser extent, the story did not require the use of voice overs.
Part of it was technoledgy at the time, and another was just an unfortunate choice of actors - some of the actors were passable by themselves. It was so damn tedious though, to hear a line of dialogue, and then wait 3 seconds for the next line, if not more. |

I tried playing the first one again and still can't get into it. I just don't like the way the game's laid out. How you can only do so much stuff in each game section... If a game can't bother to be laid out linearily, at least give me the freedom to come and go as I please (as Legend of Mana did for example). I value a good battle system first and foremost above all when considering which RPG's I choose to love, this is probably one of the few exceptions of games with really stellar battles that just won't grab me in any way. _________________

awwww. I thought you were talking about new Screens VP2. The first few CG shots are beautiful, though. |

Unbelievably beautiful. I dig the new CG for the remake of the original, but the graphics in the new PS2 game are just outstanding.
Thanks for the link. |

Actually looks pretty rad. So they're going with 2.5D? Can't say I fully appreciate that. At the same time I'm probably never going to play the game so why should they try and impress me? _________________

Because doing so is something incredibly hard to do--a brgging point few can claim. It's like climbing Everest. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

Oh yeah, correct on all counts there. I guess I meant why would they try to impress me. _________________

Very impressive. This game looks to be developing along nicely. Can't wait to see the finished deal. _________________
