[DISCLAIMER]
This is a game I made back in 2002, it was in spanish language, then now in 2007 it was just sitting on my computer, then I decided to translate it and do some sort of remake, while keeping the old look, but just better. To know about the version update of the game, please refer to the What's NEW section below... if you decide to play this DEMO, if you give feedback, focus on the game itself, the bugs/errors aren't as important as I beta test this game all the time. Exclusive custom resources for Soldier's Quest, are not to be used in your games without permission. For more concrete information, check the credits section at the end of this post.

-Official in-game Prologue-
Long ago... In ancient legends, it tells of the existence of powerful dark power capable of destroying anything it touches. Bloodlines, the legendary magic Only known by mysterious owners of a vast and powerful land... the Nox hierarchy.

It is unknown how the Nox, inheritors of this power, could handle such magnificent energy without being consumed by it while casting it. Although They could have conquered the world easily with this power, they only used it to work on making their land the most advanced civilization on earth.

As time passed people became amazed by the Nox's knowledge and power, up to the point that greed took over them and the world was engulfed in the flames of war. As the battles continued, casualties increased great enough for both sides, including members of the Nox hierarchy, causing it's ruler to take drastic measures against the rest of the world.

The Nox ruler casted Bloodlines, unleashing chaos and destruction to everything that was across it's path, to the point that the world itself would become extinct. But not everything was lost. Seven maidens with the power of Light reunited and casted a powerful magic in order to seal this malevolent power.

With Bloodlines unavailable the Nox hierarchy was defeated, and their land was forsaken in the dust. For generations the holy maidens were there to protect the seal in order to prevent humanity's greed from causing future catastrophes...

Many years have passed after this great conflict making these tragic events part of the past, but not for long, as once again rumors have arisen of the existence of a survivor from the Nox hierarchy...

Doesn't change the fact that it's a weak sprite hack game.

weak sprite hack? that sounds more like a personal opinion, if you ask me haha. Read the credits, then play the game man. Are you an RPG developer? have you ever sprited anything before? Have you written an RPG story before? Have you developed side-coding using rm2k3?

... you have a fucking child Rydia sprite in one of your screen shots. You quite obviously didn't put THAT much work into it or you would have taken the time to make a a real sprite for that shop keeper, instead of just using stock materials.

Also, I've seen every background and almost every character sprite that you used in other games, And I'm fairly positive that the ones I don't remember off the top of my head are in other games just recolored to your liking anyway. Oh, and stealing character portraits from Fire Emblem? Weak. Like I said, you obviously didn't put that much work into. Just putting the pieces together in the way that you want.

Oh, And really stellar writing on this piece.

Have you found out if your Pulitzer is in the mail or not yet?

I mean it though, really, Congratulations on wasting a lot of time on a sprite hack game that maybe like 5 people will download and play like it's a real game instead of what it really is.

But in all honesty, Nothing good has ever come out of RPGmaker made games. They're all just collection of already tired RPG cliches smashed together by some dumb teen kid or retarded adult thinking that he could somehow do better then the collective `geniuses` at the major RPG companies.

Maybe you should hook up with Otterland here. I'm sure he'd love to pitch his RPG idea to you.

Together you can make it happen! Yeah!

Wow. Biased, much?

Frankly, if you think about it, you've really done little but tell him he's a true RPG creator. Why?

Well, how many projects (scratch that, truly great projects), RPG Maker 2003 or otherwise, would truly get completed at all if the creator had to go so many extra miles of custom-spriting every single nook and cranny of their game just to let the "common" folk get a wink of sleep at night?

And frankly, man, feel free to go and attempt to mimic the amount of work he probably had to do just to make it all fit together, much less be there at all, and then tell us what a real game isn't.

(Or, you know, you could actually play his game. That'd be a rather imaginative solution, wouldn't it?)

LJ, I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but I just made an account, thanks to you. Yeah, your stupidity forced me to make an account to flame you. Now, there are two people in this world.

One, is people I like to call the douchebags. The Douchebags are normally represented by "higher up" people, like celebrities, and such. They are normally 100% against creativity, usually rather dumb, and always completely negative dumbfucks.

You fall under that category.

The other type of people in this world, I could tell you about, but I'm fairly sure your brain cannot handle it.

A lot of the games suck now-a-days, especially when it comes to story.

Every single game out there has gotten its idea from somewhere.

Stop pretending to think you know everything, and try the damned demo next time you decide that you'd like to try and convince everybody you have a pair of testicals.

Thanks~

Or a couple alts, at least.

Ideas are one thing, But completely ripping off backgrounds and sprites is another altogether

This guy is in the same league of creativity as that one fuck who makes sprite comics based on Mega Man.

Ah, I arrived too late.

Um, yeah, dude, single posts and then advertising your stuff is generally a tactic that will get you flamed here. Bringing in friends or alts to back you up also will, if your original post was pretty adverty.

Hang around the community and mingle a bit before doing that. It might have tipped you off for the reaction. Especially since, like, three topics down someone did something similar and the same thing happened.

Through my super admin powers, I have learned that both the OP and Kolid use email addresses like: username##@aol.com, so it's safe to say those two are the same at least.

But yeah, RPG Land is definitely a forum where you want to lurk before you leap, dudes.

Meh meh.
It's an RPG Maker 2003 game, so personally, whatever if someone recycles sprites. I probably would too, heh.
Though on the other hand, I wouldn't go into a forum and make boasting about it my only purpose, and then bring friends in to ward off someone who's vocally unimpressed. Lack of class, dude.

I'm sorry, but who said he brought me in himself?

Forgive me for intruding, but it's not criminal intentions nor propaganda that fuel most to disagree with someone's blind criticism. (I call it blind because they make it clear themselves that they had no interest in playing the game because they believed solely in their absolute first perception of it.)

I may be a bit of an idealist in that mindset, but it's a better mindset for the internet than most I can think of.

On that note, I'll humbly let the dust settle.

His first mistake was assuming anybody here gave half a fuck about RPG's. Well except for Randar and Wein Cruz I guess, but since you're not from Japan, they don't really give a shit about this either. There's no audience for this here. Sorry. Go try RPGamer.

Haha, I did not brought anyone, this has been discussed elsewhere and you are just merely getting the input of other RM developers... it is normal to expect this, when coming off the way you did.

You make no sense, considering you still haven't noticed that rydia wasn't ripped. Rydia was sprited from scratch, as well Heath, C.A. and everyone else in the main story/secondary character is.

I mean it though, really, Congratulations on wasting a lot of time on a sprite hack game that maybe like 5 people will download and play like it's a real game instead of what it really is.

And my answer to that, is this:

In other words, to make your point, that is something you must discuss with a couple of thousands. And I'm being nice, just showing the initial demo, so, how worse can things get if I keep showing more results of the several updates? If soo many people download it, then there must be something that people like in it, don't you agree?

So have you figured out how to make this game a stand-alone that doesn't require RPG Maker 2003 and/or it's "stand-alone" (that actually isn't) launch program yet?

Discussing elsewhere = bringing people. Especially when you're all like "Some guy insulted my game guys! Look! Here's the link! Go get it!"
You put "vs." in the topic title.
It's fine to get upset if someone's insulting your work, but let's call a spade a spade here.

Really dude, there is no problem with discussing these issues with others, specially others that work with the same programs such as me. Just like you are allowed to do the same.

I am not upset, perhaps I'm curious. And honestly, calling things for its names is something you guys haven't done propertly from the very beginning if you ask me. No offense dude.
