Battlefront 2, Call of Duty 2 and lots of Madden '05... I feel so mainstream and dirty... _________________

F what this guy says. The Pumpkins in their prime were the shiznit. And yes Liquid I totally agree that Mayonaise was probably their best song. NR can confirm that was probably my favorite song for a long time. Sadly that band reallllly tailed off with their last few albums and it was probably for the best when they broke up. Great stuff though and I'll have no one dissing them. |
Amen! I loved mayonnaise, but I think my favorite song was Disarm. I think it just spoke volumes to me.
Anyway, back to topic. Found my old copies of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Zelda: Oracle of Ages. They were decidedly my least favorite games in the series, but I started playing them anyway. They're growing on me. _________________ Wise men speak because they have something to say.

The Oracle games are far and away among my favourite Zelda games ever. If you don't want them anymore I'd be glad to take them off your hands, ingrate. _________________

Just 'cause they're my least favorite of the series, doesn't meant that i don't like them. Anyway, if I do decide to give them away, and my brother doesn't want them. I'll be sure to send them your way. _________________ Wise men speak because they have something to say.

While I don't think that they are as good as Link's Awakening (which is quite possibly my favorite) they do have a lot of the same feeling. I never did get around to beating Oracle of Seasons...maybe I should do that. _________________

Heh, man I wish I knew what was going through people's heads sometimes when they say the things they say. I loved the Oracle games cause they felt nothing like Link's Awakening. Though the story wasn't as good as LA, the gameplay was so much better. Minish Cap followed up on them very well and would have taken their place if I hadn't beaten it in something like two and a half hours... _________________

What was going through my head is "This feel's like Link's Awakening"
Gameplay was not better than Awakening. _________________

LA was just a handheld, black & white LttP... They didn't change the gameplay, even a little bit. The Oracle games were way more puzzle based, and not just a retread of every tired puzzle introduced in the game thus far.
The only things that Link's Awakening had to boast are it's really great story and one of the coolest glitches in the history of video games (non DX version). _________________

I'm not able to comment on Ages, but Oracle of Season's puzzles sucked. They were in absolutely no way superior to Link's Awakening, which incidentally felt nothing like LttP. |

See, this all goes back to my aversion of handhelds. They can be the best game in the world, but I would avoid them because I prefer console gaming.
LA and the oracle series didn't float my boat. They were good, and as an avid Zelda Geek I played them. But, they didn't really have very much replay value for me. Except for on long road trips. _________________ Wise men speak because they have something to say.

Not sure what you mean here, Aubstar. Get a Game Boy Player. Then all handheld games become console. Well...Game Boy games anyway. That's how I played Oracle. _________________

Heh. Not sure what you mean by that, but I do find it gets a lot of use. Usually when I travel I'm busy looking at the stuff I travelled all the way out wherever to look at. In cars I read books. So...my handheld gaming is usually done at home. Which is sad. But the GB Player is a godsend. When I was younger I was a huge GameBoy freak. I probably permanently damaged my spine looking at that damn screen. _________________

Well I have to amend my earlier statement. I hardly use my gameboy to travel with anymore. I use my laptop, Emulator and everything. But, I still bring along the GBA to appease my heathenous brothers.
I also played a handheld when I was younger. But, the neck strain began to be too much... how sad. _________________ Wise men speak because they have something to say.

Just to go on topic....now that I've gone to the darkside of DS....
I've currently been playing Castlevania DOS. Nice game. It uses simple 2D graphics but its just fun fun fun its like playing the old school Castlevania with a DS twist _________________

Since I thoroughly destroyed FFIVa and everything it stands for, I guess I might as well go back to Mario & Luigi 2... _________________
