I wrote a poem the other day. I'm really proud of it.

Sad Isn't So Bad?-------------------

The other day I tried to write
But now I think I lost that fight
I tried to write happy, please understand
Sadly, though, it was a terrible plan
"It's too damned hard," I said to me
I just can't seem to write happily
I'd even thought my writing was bad
But then again, I never wrote sad

So now I go home and don my black makeup,
Making sure these feelings never will pick up
As a song once said, "Happiness writes white,"
Now I know for sure - that singer was right
There's so much to cry for; so little to die for
Hence writing so sad helps me to write more
If you want to write but are at a loss
Take my advice: Start to go goth

You're so 'unique,' but you all dress the same
You think you are higher - have you no shame?
You're not more creative by acting depressed -
Writing sad just lets you think less
Try to write happy 'bout the clear blue sky
It's just not so easy when you can't seem to cry
Toss on some bright clothing, camp out on the lawn
And with all that happy, your inspiration'll be gone

I was writing sad, not the other day
I got through thirty pages, got lots of pay
Rolling in dough, I walk home singing
And was soon to find my emotions swinging
If they rise too high what will I do?
I can only write when I'm a little blue
Or maybe just maybe I'll learn to write happy
And then, if I've real skills, well, we'll see.

Suck it, goths.

Share your crappy poetry here. It'll either make me feel like a loner when nobody else does, or give everyone a fun time with their poetry.

I also have an excuse for writing this bullshit: Extra credit for my English class if I enter the "Poetry Slam," thing. I did it last year too, and, just like last year, I won't go up unless I'm making fun of something. I made this one particularly biting, to remind the other people on stage that I'm not there because I think I'm hip.

not because I particularly like poetry, but because I have a plethora of crappy poetry leftover from my high school days that I'll likely never use again.

CHANGE

I'm not the same today,
as I was the day before.
And who I'll be tomorrow
I doubt you've met before

I find that life is easier
when you hide within the rush.
When no one knows who you are
you won't be missed, not much.

I cannot get attention
as the popular or the saint
Life's much more fun when you're like me
and you're addicted to change.

I wasn't really trying to get back in with those guys. I figured I'd had enough of posting legit there, so I purposely blew my cover and then exposed them for the fags they are. I even managed to get a multi-year old thread deleted completely off the face of existence, so I'd say mission accomplished.
