Yet another example of the following mathematical proof:

DS > PSP.

Wow. DQ meets FF: Crystal Chronicles.

Looking forward to this as well now. Glad to hear Level 5 is involved again.

Wow.

Going from 7 DQ's of "you can't see your character hit the enemy" to DQ8 where you can see your character hit the enemy and now to some kind of realtime battle system it looks like.

I applaud square enix for getting a clue. Tactical RPG's should be the only ones that are turn based.

I still have yet to see a true sequel to FFT Square Enix. Think about it.

Surprising news. I'm not some kind of puritan, and as long as it's good in spite of the changes, that's all that matters to me.

that's a shock to me

i hope they do put one on next gen consoles though, i'd like to see a DQ with Blue Dragon like graphics

in any case, i think that really helps insure continuing DS dominance in Japan

It has been confirmed that this will be WiFi. Meaning 4 player multiplayer.

So wholly agreed it's not even funny. That game looks terrible.

If I hear this same news for Ring of Fate. I'm going to nut grenades.

I can't wait to play either game

Dragon Quest VIII was one of my favorite RPGs of recent years (sorry XII... nope) so I have faith in this. I hope it gives me as much play time as that one did and isn't shortened because it's on the DS. Being on the DS is pretty awesome as long as they pump that cart to the max.

i liked the turn based though... DQ seemed like the last bastion of turn based goodness Sad

edit: and i agree with tim.. i hope they manage to cram as much gameplay into the cartridge as was in DQVIII

Wow. It's been less than 24 hours since we even heard about the game, and now there are screens and videos? I'm surprised.

I'd make a comment on the footage, but it's not loading for me. Rrrgh.

Supposedly, the game is already really far along, and there are even TV ads in Japan.

It's crazy that they were able to keep this secret for so long in this day and age.
